Kernel Boot Parameters
Your laptop will come setup with all the following tweaks installed. The below is advised if you reinstall your operating system or change to another distribution.
Configuring via PPA
You can easily install and configure boot parameters via our PPA by running the below commands in your terminal.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:starlabs/ppa
sudo apt update
sudo apt install starlabs-grub
Manual Configuration
If you would like more control over this process, below are the individual steps to setup these tweaks
The boot parameters that are required are:
quiet loglevel=0 splash acpi_os_name=Linux acpi_osi= acpi_backlight=vendor
These can be added with the below command.
sudo sed -i -e 's/quiet splash/quiet loglevel=0 splash acpi_os_name=Linux acpi_osi= acpi_backlight=vendor/g' /etc/default/grub
You then need to update the grub configuration files to use these changes.
sudo update-grub
